The Indian Union marks Some Important Events during the Visit of Father Mark McDonald MSC

BANGALORE, India – Fr. Mark McDonald arrived on June 2 at Chevalier Bhavan and accepted the vows of scholastics. He also accepted the perpetual vows of six brothers on June 6 2009. He consulted all the members of the Union individually regarding the next Union Superior. He travelled to Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, to open the Chevalier Academy on June 13 and Rev. Dr. Antony Pappusamy, the Bishop of Dindigul, blessed the new school building. Fr. Adrian Meaney, Mission Office Australia and Fr. Michael O’Connell, Mission office Ireland raised fund for the construction of the school. The Indian Union had a meaningful celebration on the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Fr. Mark instituted ministries of Lector and Acolytes to nine scholastics. At the culmination of his visit, he will address the MSC Indian Union members on June 25 and same day he will inaugurate beginning of the silver jubilee of MSC presence in India. The Indian Union will celebrate the completion of 25 years on July 3 2010.
